Contact: Daikwon Han, Ph.D.
Organizational Location: SPH, Epi & Biostat
Research and public health practice that incorporates the spatial components of diseases and health disparities has the potential to provide both new insights into the etiology of diseases and better resolution for developing effective interventions.
The Program for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Spatial Statistics serves as a focus within SPH for the development and application of GIS techniques and methodology in public health research and practice. By promoting collaborative research, providing technical assistance, and developing GIS curriculum, the Program promotes innovative, appropriate and rigorous use of GIS methodology and spatial analysis strategies by SPH faculty and students.
