  • Faculty Research Award

    In the spirit of the School of Public Health's commitment to research, the School in alternating years recognizes one Early Career (applicant is within 10 years of terminal degree at time of application due date) and one Associate/Full Professor with the Dean's Research Excellence Award.  Last year, we recognized an Early Career colleague, Natalie Johnson from EOH. This year we will seek nominations for faculty who are Associate or Full Professors for this award.

    o   Announcement/Call – January 18

    o   Application/Abstract Due – February 28

    o   Judging Results Due – March 22

    o   April 2019: Winner is selected.

    o   Commencement Award Ceremony – May

  • Student Research Award

    We request assistance from Department Heads and Program Directors in identifying potential nominees to receive the Annual Student Award for Research Excellence. The award recognizes those students who have demonstrated excellence in the design, conduct, execution, and impact of research stemming from thesis, dissertation, or a portfolio of research projects in which they have been involved during their research experience at the School.  One doctoral level student and one masters level student will be recognized.

    o   Notice of Intent to compete due to Research Office – January 31

    o   Applications/Abstract Due – February 28

    o   Departmental Winning Nominations due to Office of Research – March 18

    o   Judging Results – March 22

    o   Commencement Award Ceremony – May 

  • Student Research Poster Contest

    Each year, during Public Week in April, we host the Annual School of Public Health Student Research Poster Contest.  We are pleased to invite students to participate in the 14th Annual SPH Research Poster Contest to be held April 1-5, 2019 at SPH.  This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the students research activities.  Awards will be given for the top 3 poster entries at the Graduate and Undergraduate levels. In addition, our top two winners at each level will be invited to compete for a slot in the Delta Omega Sponsored National Student Research Poster Contest to be held at the annual APHA Conference in Fall 2019.
