World Fit Competition
Join Aggies, Athletes, and Armed Forces in their effort to get America’s youth more fit through the World Fit Walk!!
Texas A&M is working closely with the The World Fit Foundation, United States Olympians and Paralympians Association - Houston Chapter, the Corps of Cadets, and Mission: Readiness to fight childhood obesity through a sustainable school-based physical activity initiative within the United States and across the world. Every spring, World Fit spearheads a 6-week campaign designed to help elementary and middle school students be more active through walks and other activities led by current and past Olympians.
This will be the 2nd year that the School of Public Health is supporting World Fit’s annual 6-week fitness initiative at the University level, starting April 5th and ending May 17th.
Throughout that period, there will be a Kickoff event on April 5th, 3:30 - 4:30 pm, and weekly walks starting at the School of Public Health on Wednesday’s at 12:30 pm through May 17th. We invite you to join the School of Public Health, the Commandant of the Corps of Cadets, Brigadier General Joe Ramirez and Olympian Jackie Washington for a one mile walk to support the efforts of the World Fit Foundation. Ms. Washington will speak briefly concerning the World Fit program and General Ramirez will speak on Mission: Readiness.
