Mayors will read and deliver a signed proclamation to Dean Maddock proclaiming the first week in April as National Public Health Week in the Brazos Valley. In attendance will be Karl Mooney, College Station Mayor; Andrew Nelson, Bryan Mayor; and Ken Bost,Brazos County Health Department. The "This is Public Health" photo contest winners will also be announced!
The presentation will be led by Michael Morrisey, PhD, internationally renowned health economist and School of Public Health department head, recently on C-SPAN with colleagues discussing a 5-state study on the issue. He will be joined by William Sage, MD, JD, a member of the National Academy of Medicine working with the School of Public Health as a 2017 Fellow of the Hagler Institute for Advance Study, and Laura Dague, PhD, recipient of the 2015 National Institute for Health Care Management’s research award for her work on Medicaid, of the Bush School of Government and Public Service
Come learn about World Fit and join in a friendly competition among other WorldFit participants. Olympian Jackie Washington will speak on the World Fit program and General Ramirez with Texas A&M's Corps of Cadets will discuss "Mission Readiness."
