Symposium: “Re-Thinking Plastic: In products, our oceans, and our bodies”

With the growing demand from the general public on sustainability efforts, the use of plastics has come into question. It's cheap and lightweight, with widespread use in products we use every single day. But with time comes change, and now consumers are more informed about BPA-free products, recyclable materials, and how plastic products impact our environment and health.

Join us on Friday, April 5 to hear from experts, from research, industry and the field. We are delighted to hear from our panelists, who include:

  • Ms. Christine Figgener, Marine Biology Ph.D. candidate, Dept. of Oceanography and recipient of the 2018 Next Generation Leader by TIME Magazine
  • Dr. Natalie Johnson, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Dr. Pamela Plotkin, Associate Research Professor, Dept. of Oceanography & Director, Texas Sea Grant
  • Mr. John Strassner, Vice President of Workplace Strategy & Industry Relations, Humanscale Co.

We are giving out FREE silicone straws for all attendees!
