After growing up in a military family and moving around quite a bit, Sergio settled into San Antonio, Texas. Then he moved to College Station and earned a degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Motor Behavior and a minor in Psychology. While pursuing his degree, he started working as a 911 Dispatcher for Texas A&M University EMS. Sergio then moved into the role of Communications Coordinator for his agency, for which he still maintains. As Communications Coordinator, Sergio is responsible for hiring and training of new dispatchers, as well as maintaining day-to-day operations and QA/QI for the Communications department of University EMS. He will continue his current role with Texas A&M EMS until the completion of his MHA. Sergio's leadership qualities and capabilities are what lead him to choose a career in healthcare administration, and he believes he can be a passionate and valuable asset to improving health care within the community. He is a student member of ACHE and MGMA and plans on getting more involved in local health care organizations. Sergio enjoys watching and playing sports, learning about new technology, and spending time with family.
