Kendalyn Rising grew up in Beaumont, Texas. In the spring of 2016, she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in political science. Throughout Rising's undergraduate education, she was the founder and president of Aggie Visionaries, a student organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for retinal disease research. Along with her work with Aggie Visionaries, she was involved with Texas A&M’s Disability Services as a member of the student advisory board and as a speaker on various student panels, positions which Rising still holds today. In the spring of 2015, Rising received the Aggie Spirit Award which recognizes students who exhibit outstanding courage and determination in the face of adversity while attending Texas A&M. Rising is passionate about working to bring about positive changes in both our local and surrounding communities. In her free time, Rising enjoys cooking, reading and volunteering.
