Class of 2018
B.S. Biology and Minor in Latin
Millsaps College, Jackson Mississippi
Edgar, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, is proud of his state culture and heritage. As a high school student committed to discipleship and community service, he looked no further than a liberal arts college education. Millsaps expanded his service and leadership opportunities, while providing a rigorous educational experience. He served many leadership roles that would influence his decision to specialize in a management graduate program. Upon entering his MHA program, he promptly sought a part-time job in the health care community. Currently, he is an EMR Project Manager and Patient Access Coordinator for Central Texas Heart Center. There he works closely with each department in the independent clinic, especially its eight providers. Even though his graduate studies are his highest priorities, he continues to find ways to serve the community and enhance his faith. For community and professional involvement, he is a member of the local Rotary and student member of IHI (chapter is same), ACHE (chapter is AFHL), HFMA (chapter is HFA), and MGMA (chapter is same). Edgar’s avocation is piano and organ, each producing occasions to play for wedding, funerals, and Masses, as well as interacting with musicians and other church ministries in the area. He enjoys a healthy diet and exercise routine as well as spending quality time with friends and family.
