Application Checklist Overview
How to Apply
Degree-seeking (master's, doctoral, and readmission) applicants will preferably have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Certificate applicants must have a 3.0 GPA to take courses for a grade. Certificate option to take classes via the pass/fail option must minimally possess a 2.5 GPA.
Note: Students taking certificate courses pass/fail are not able to apply to a degree program at a later date.
Only complete applications will be reviewed for an admission decision. Incomplete applications will be withdrawn according to application deadlines. Admission status updates are provided in the applicant's Banner Admissions Management Framework (BAMF) account. Applicants will be sent a confirmation email after the Office of Student Affairs receives the completed application from SOPHAS or HAMPCAS.
No supplemental applications or fees are required.
The School of Public Health welcomes transfer students into the school. Accepted transfer students will be allowed to transfer up to nine semester credit hours from other accredited graduate degree granting institutions. Transfer students should contact the head of the department to determine if the course would be accepted to the School of Public Health degree plan. Admission officers will assist in this request. Any student considering transfer to the School of Public Health will be required to submit an application through SOPHAS. Courses applied to a previous degree are not allowed to transfer.
Readmission to a degree program must follow general readmission policies. Students seeking readmission should contact the Office of Student Affairs for details regarding necessary application documents and procedures.
