Richard Hoeth, FACHE, is the president of Southwest Rural Hospital Consultants (SWRHC), a company established in 2011 to serve the varied needs of rural hospitals in the southwest region. Hoeth has over 40 years of experience as a consultant, healthcare executive, and association executive, and he is a senior management consultant for TORCH Management Services, Inc. (TMSI).
Prior to founding SWRHC, Hoeth was the CEO of Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake, Texas, where he engineered a financial turnaround for the critical access hospital, and positioned the organization for the future. Immediately prior to serving at Rice Medical Center, Hoeth was the vice president of Rural Health and Member Relations at the Texas Hospital Association. His previous rural and small hospital CEO experience includes positions in Texas, Ohio, and Michigan, as well as interim CEO assignments in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Hoeth is a Fellow (FACHE) in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a past ACHE Regent for the Central and South Texas Region, and was an ACHE Regent-at-Large for the state of Texas. He currently serves as a member of Texas A&M's School of Public Health Advisory Board and is a member of the National and Texas Rural Health Associations. Hoeth is an immediate past member of Texas Hospital Association's Rural Hospital Council.
